EBAA vs. BK Amager

Preview: EBAA Visits BK Amager in Basketligaen Clash

AMAGER, Denmark (Interstat) — Two Danish Basketligaen teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when EBAA visits BK Amager at Amagerhallen.

The matchup features teams with struggling overall records. EBAA enters at 11-19 across all competitions, while BK Amager sits at 6-24. Despite their standings, both squads have shown recent flashes of competitive play.

EBAA arrives with confidence from a two-game winning streak, including a 101-85 road victory over Holbaek-Stenhus on April 12. The team’s recent success has been fueled by guard Mads Ziegler, who is averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 assists over his last five games. Ziegler nearly posted a triple-double in the win over Holbaek-Stenhus, finishing with 18 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.

BK Amager looks to rebound from a 96-90 loss to Vaerlose BBK on April 12. The home team will rely on center Majok Gum, who has been a consistent force. Gum has recorded four double-doubles in his last five outings, averaging 15.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in that span. His performance, including a 17-point, 16-rebound effort in a win over Holbaek-Stenhus on April 8, will be central to Amager’s hopes.

Recent history favors the visitors. EBAA has won the last three head-to-head meetings, including a 75-67 home victory on March 8. In their last trip to Amagerhallen on Jan. 3, EBAA secured a 100-85 win.

For EBAA, supporting Ziegler will be center Simon Schwartz and forward Anton Katholm, who combined for 27 points in the recent win over Holbaek-Stenhus. BK Amager will need backcourt production from Oscar Ruebman Quackenbush, who dished 10 assists in the last game, and Ludvig Kyhn, who scored 20 points in that contest.

Saturday’s game offers both teams a chance to build positive momentum before their next league fixtures. EBAA hosts BK Vejen on April 21, while BK Amager travels to face Copenhagen on April 23.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday evening at Amagerhallen.
