Preview: Studentski Centar Faces Ulcinjska Rivijera in Montenegrin League Matchup

ULCINJ, Montenegro (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt losing streaks will meet Monday when Studentski Centar visits Ulcinjska Rivijera in a Montenegrin Prva A Liga contest at SC Gimnazija.

The matchup is a quick rematch, as the teams faced each other just two days prior on Saturday, March 14. Details from that game were not immediately available.

Studentski Centar (12-26 overall) enters on a three-game skid, including a 92-73 home loss to Podgorica on Wednesday. Guard Danilo Nikezic, a player to watch, scored 10 points in that defeat. He is averaging 9.3 points and 2.7 assists over his last three appearances.

Ulcinjska Rivijera (5-16 overall) has lost five consecutive games, most recently a 118-95 road defeat to Teodo Tivat on Tuesday. Forward Vuk Vujacic has been a bright spot, averaging 19 points and 7.5 assists over his last two outings, including a 20-point, 9-assist performance against Teodo Tivat.

Despite their struggles, Studentski Centar holds the better overall record and won the previous meeting this season against Ulcinjska Rivijera, 92-57, on Feb. 15. Nikezic contributed 7 points in that victory.

The home team has shown offensive firepower recently, with Petar Strugar adding 21 points and Luka Bojovic scoring 27 in the loss to Teodo Tivat. Containing that duo will be a key for the visitors.

Studentski Centar’s schedule does not ease after this game, with a matchup against Ilirija looming on Thursday. Ulcinjska Rivijera’s next contest is at Primorje 1945 on Saturday.

Tip-off is set for Monday afternoon in Ulcinj.
