Centrum Tigers vs. Frøya Basket

Preview: Centrum Tigers at Frøya Basket

BERGEN, Norway (March 10, 2026) (Interstat) — The Frøya Basket look to solidify their top-tier standing in the Norwegian BLNO when they host the sliding Centrum Tigers on Tuesday at Froyahallen.

Frøya (20-8) enters as one of the league’s hottest teams, having won three of its last four, including a dominant 102-82 victory over Asker Aliens on Saturday. They are led by the formidable frontcourt presence of center Jamal Poplar, who is averaging a double-double and coming off a 24-point, 15-rebound performance. In the teams’ most recent meeting on Feb. 21, Poplar powered Frøya to an 81-71 road win with 25 points and 14 rebounds.

The visiting Centrum Tigers (15-12) are looking to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 76-54 road loss to Gimle Basket on Saturday. Their fortunes may hinge on forward Fredrik Kleivdal, who posted 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in the late-February loss to Frøya. Kleivdal has been a consistent contributor, scoring in double figures in three of his last five outings.

The season series is tied 1-1. Frøya’s victory last month avenged a 77-76 home loss to the Tigers from Sept. 20, 2025. Centrum also won the first meeting this season, 96-80, on Nov. 1, 2025.

For Frøya, supporting Poplar will be forward Cedric Johnson, who recorded a triple-double (19 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) in Saturday’s win. Centrum will need increased production beyond Kleivdal after being held to 54 points in its last contest.

Tip-off is set for Tuesday evening in Bergen. With playoff positioning at stake, Frøya aims to continue its home-court success while the Tigers seek a critical road win to reverse their recent fortunes.
