Vasco da Gama vs. Imortal Albufeira
Struggling Sides Collide as Imortal Hosts Vasco da Gama in LPB Play
ALBUFEIRA, Portugal (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the final stretch of the Portuguese LPB season will meet Saturday when Imortal Albufeira hosts Vasco da Gama.
The matchup at Albufeira Arena features clubs with nearly identical disappointing records. Imortal Albufeira sits at 7-12 across all competitions, while Vasco da Gama is just behind at 5-14. With only a handful of games remaining, both sides are desperate to climb the standings.
The teams last met on Dec. 28, 2025, a contest Imortal dominated in a 119-66 road victory. Vasco da Gama will be looking for a measure of revenge and to snap a two-game skid, including a 112-81 home loss to SC Portugal on April 4.
A key battle will feature two in-form players. Vasco da Gama will lean on forward Akoi Yuot, who has been a bright spot during a tough season. Yuot is averaging 22.8 points over his last four games, including a 28-point performance in a win over Queluz Sintra on March 21.
He will be matched by Imortal Albufeira’s dynamic guard Keonte Kennedy. Kennedy is coming off a 22-point, 8-rebound effort in an overtime loss to Esgueira on April 4 and has been a consistent all-around contributor, averaging 17.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over his last four outings.
Vasco da Gama’s recent form has been uneven, mixing two wins in March with several heavy defeats. Imortal Albufeira has shown slightly more consistency, winning two of its last four, but is coming off that overtime defeat.
For Vasco da Gama, support for Yuot will need to come from guards Zavian McLean and Lashon Lindsey, who combined for 26 points and 11 assists in the last game. Imortal will counter with Kennedy and guard Andre Silva, who dished out six assists last week.
Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday evening in Albufeira.
