TRIKALA, Greece (Interstat) — A matchup of teams on opposite trajectories is set for Saturday as Peira Machites visits winless Trikala in a Greek HEBA A2 league contest at DK Trikala.

Peira Machites (5-4) enters the game with momentum, coming off an 83-73 home victory over Niki Volou on Nov. 22. Center Darlinstone Dubar led the way with a dominant 36-point, 12-rebound performance, while point guard Daryl Banks added 21 points.

In contrast, Trikala (0-9) is searching for its first win of the season after a lopsided 87-57 home loss to Ermis Schimatari on Nov. 22. Point guard Tyrell Jones, who scored 19 points in the defeat, and center Dionysios Tataris, who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, have been bright spots for a struggling squad.

The teams’ recent results highlight the stark contrast. Peira Machites has won three of its last five games, including an overtime victory. Trikala, meanwhile, has lost all nine of its games by an average margin of over 22 points.

The game will be the first of the season between the two clubs. Peira Machites will look to capitalize on its recent form and offensive firepower, while Trikala aims to finally break into the win column in front of its home fans.
