Kortrijk vs. Leuven

LEUVEN, Belgium (Interstat) — The Kortrijk team visits the Leuven Bears on Saturday in a BNXT League matchup at Sportoase, with both teams eyeing momentum ahead of the final stretch of the regular season.

Kortrijk (21-10 overall) brings a strong record into the game, buoyed by an 85-80 win over Den Helder on April 24. Forward Bram Bogaerts has been a consistent force, averaging 16 points over his last five games. He posted 20 points, six rebounds and three assists in the victory over Den Helder, and scored 21 points in an 75-68 win against Charleroi on April 17.

Leuven (13-18) has struggled for consistency but remains competitive at home. The Bears lost two of their last three games, including a 73-69 defeat at Charleroi on April 23. Center Kelton Talford has led the offensive charge, scoring 22 points with seven rebounds in that loss. He also recorded a 28-point, six-rebound performance in a 91-88 win over Mons-Hainaut on April 4.

The teams met once this season, with Kortrijk winning 71-69 at home on Sept. 26, 2025. That narrow result underscores the potential for a tight contest Saturday.

Kortrijk has shown resilience in close games, including two overtime losses — a 114-111 defeat to Limburg on April 3 and a 93-92 win over Shoeters Den Bosch on March 6. The team has relied on a balanced attack, with guard Kihei Clark adding 19 points in the Den Helder win and Jarne Lesuisse contributing 12 points and six rebounds.

Leuven, meanwhile, has split its recent home games but showed offensive firepower against Mons-Hainaut. The Bears will need Talford to continue his strong interior play, while guard Steff Schauvlieger and forward Tytan Anderson provide support. Anderson posted 10 points and 11 rebounds in the recent loss to Charleroi.

Saturday’s game is part of a busy schedule for both teams. Kortrijk hosts Oostende on May 6, while Leuven welcomes Landstede on the same date.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. local time.
