Mercer holds off Western Carolina for tight home victory

(Interstat) — Mercer defeated Western Carolina 17-14 on Saturday in an NCAA Football Championship Division game at Five Star Stadium, using timely offense and a sturdy defensive effort to secure the home victory before an announced attendance of 3,139.
