(Interstat) — Pat McQuaide threw for 223 yards and a touchdown as Villanova defeated Long Island 20-16 on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, in an NCAA Football Championship Division game at Shark Stadium. McQuaide completed 19 of 27 passes and added 31 rushing yards. Ja’briel Mace ran for 97 yards and scored twice, once rushing and once receiving, while Brandon Binkowski caught six passes for 113 yards. Ethan Greenwood paced Long Island with 142 rushing yards and 113 passing yards, and Sam Slade added 43 rushing yards. Braylon Vincent recorded an interception for the Sharks. Christian Caballero made 10 tackles for Villanova, and Jamie Tyson intercepted a pass. Rafael Fasolino recorded 11 tackles and a sack for Long Island. Dominic LeBlanc kicked two field goals. The Wildcats improved to 2-2, while the Sharks fell to 0-1. Villanova hosts Colgate on Sept. 26. Long Island travels to Florida International on Sept. 26.
