LEXINGTON, Va. (Interstat) — Bucknell defeated Virginia Military Institute 14-3 in an NCAA Football Championship Division game Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at Foster Stadium. The visiting Bison scored all 14 points in the third quarter, while the Keydets managed three points in the first quarter. Bucknell improved to 1-2, and VMI fell to 0-3. Christopher Dietrich led Bucknell at quarterback, while Ian Reynolds guided VMI’s offense. Anthony Allen, Robert Powell, Isaiah Grevious, Ayden Babich, Rod Tasco, EJ Wilborne, Nic Land and others contributed for the Keydets’ defense. Bucknell’s Juan Garanton handled kicking duties, and Owen Garwood, Lucas Rost, Jack Inserra, Nick Hoying, Deuce Geter, Brandon Biagiarelli, Jack Sullivan, JJ Gomez, England Allen, Sam Milligan, Jerry Harrison and Kaleb Lampkins also saw action. Bucknell previously lost to Villanova by one point and fell at Richmond. VMI previously lost at Idaho State and at Virginia Tech. The Bison next host Penn on Sept. 19, while VMI visits Davidson the same day.
