MURRAY, Ky. (Interstat) — South Dakota (5-2) will visit Murray State (1-5) on Saturday for an NCAA Football Championship Division game at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Ky.

South Dakota is coming off a 31-10 home win over Southern Illinois. Austyn Modrzewski is a player to watch for the Coyotes. In that victory, Modrzewski completed 16 of 20 passes for 268 yards and one touchdown. Earlier this season, he completed 16 of 23 passes for 196 yards and rushed six times for 8 yards and three touchdowns against Indiana State. He also went 16 of 22 for 147 yards with eight carries for 19 yards and a touchdown against Youngstown State, and completed 12 of 27 passes for 243 yards and three touchdowns at Boise State.

Jackson Proctor also contributed in the Southern Illinois win, completing his only pass for no yards and rushing four times for 19 yards and a touchdown. Charles Pierre Jr. rushed 15 times for 138 yards and caught one pass for 8 yards and a touchdown.

South Dakota’s other results this season include a 44-14 win over Indiana State, a 47-28 loss at Youngstown State, a 38-24 loss at Boise State, a 41-23 win over Eastern Washington, a 38-23 win at Northern Colorado and a 59-20 win over Central Connecticut.

Murray State most recently lost 55-28 at North Dakota. Baxter Wright is a player to watch for the Racers. In that game, Wright completed 11 of 18 passes for 80 yards and rushed 10 times for 14 yards. Jim Ogle completed three of five passes for 65 yards and one touchdown. Tyrell Campbell rushed 13 times for 51 yards and caught one pass for 6 yards and a touchdown. Earlier this season at Oklahoma State, Wright completed one of two passes for 5 yards, rushed five times for 9 yards and recorded one tackle.

Murray State’s other results include a 46-6 loss to Southern Illinois, a 59-0 loss at Oklahoma State, a 27-18 win over Valparaiso, a 38-14 loss at Middle Tennessee and a 28-14 loss to Eastern Illinois.

After this game, South Dakota is scheduled to host North Dakota, visit South Dakota State, host Northern Iowa and visit Illinois State. Murray State is scheduled to visit South Dakota State, visit Illinois State, host Youngstown State, visit Indiana State and host Northern Iowa.
