BRONX (Interstat) — Fordham defeated visiting Richmond 20-14 on Saturday at Jack Coffey Field in an NCAA Football Championship Division game. The Rams improved to 2-5, while the Spiders dropped to 5-2. Gunnar Smith completed 13 of 25 passes for 98 yards and one touchdown and ran nine times for 20 yards and another score for Fordham. Ashten Snelsire completed 24 of 39 passes for 122 yards for Richmond. Daniel Sellers had five tackles and three quarterback hurries for the Spiders. Dominic Sansone punted four times for 163 yards for Fordham. Aziz Foster-Powell ran 12 times for 68 yards and caught two passes for 8 yards for Richmond. Jamaal Brown added six rushes for 24 yards and two catches for 4 yards. Sean Clarke caught six passes for 34 yards. Bryce Allen caught five passes for 33 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown from Snelsire. Jamell James had a 2-yard scoring run, and Ricky Gonzalez II caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Smith. Attendance was 1,825.
