TOLEDO (Interstat) — Toledo hosts Buffalo on Saturday in an NCAA Football Bowl Division game at Glass Bowl. The Rockets are 4-1, while the Bulls are 2-3.

Buffalo is coming off a 20-17 loss to Western Michigan. Jason Wright, the Bulls’ player to watch, completed 11 of 18 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown in that game. Messiah Burch rushed 23 times for 106 yards and caught one pass for minus-5 yards and a touchdown. Nino Hill had 14 carries for 40 yards and one tackle.

Wright has been central to Buffalo’s offense. In a 31-28 win over Robert Morris, he completed 15 of 28 passes for 140 yards, ran 15 times for 95 yards and accounted for two touchdowns. In a 55-13 loss at Penn State, he completed 10 of 25 passes for 60 yards and ran six times for 3 yards. Buffalo also lost 33-20 at Florida International and beat Albany 21-17.

Toledo has scored at least 39 points in each of its last three games. The Rockets beat Ball State 39-24 in their most recent outing. John Alan Richter, Toledo’s player to watch, completed 19 of 35 passes for 201 yards, ran for 12 yards and scored a touchdown. CJ Miller rushed 20 times for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Connor Walendzak ran 16 times for 103 yards, caught two passes for 15 yards and scored a touchdown.

Richter has been efficient and explosive. Against San Diego State, he completed 16 of 22 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-16 win. In a 49-48 win over Temple, he completed 36 of 51 passes for 429 yards and four touchdowns. Toledo also defeated Central Connecticut 63-10 and lost at Michigan State 30-20. The Rockets have won four straight.

Weather at game time is forecast to be 50 degrees. The matchup is set for Saturday at Glass Bowl. After this game, Buffalo hosts Massachusetts and Bowling Green before road games at Miami (Ohio) and Ball State. Toledo visits Eastern Michigan, hosts Western Michigan and then plays at Sacramento State.
