ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — Tulsa will try to snap a two-game losing streak when it visits Navy in an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision game Saturday at Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Tulsa enters 3-2 after a 45-44 loss to North Texas. The Golden Hurricane also fell at Arkansas 34-6 after opening with wins over Oklahoma State, Sam Houston and Texas A&M-Commerce. Navy–Marine Corps Memorial Stadium will host the matchup. The weather forecast at game time is 74 degrees. Navy returns home for the first time since its opening win over Towson. Tulsa will look to get its offense moving behind Hayes and a running game that showed balance against North Texas. Navy will lean on Gutierrez and a rushing attack that has produced explosive efforts from its quarterback. The Midshipmen will need to limit turnovers and sustain drives against a Tulsa defense that has had mixed results. The Golden Hurricane will need to protect Hayes and finish scoring chances after a one-point loss last time out. Tulsa has allowed 45 points in its most recent game and 34 at Arkansas. Navy has allowed 38 points at Florida Atlantic and 24 at UAB.
Tulsa’s upcoming schedule includes a trip to Rice, a home game against Army, visits to Tulane and Texas-San Antonio, and home dates with Florida Atlantic and Charlotte. Navy will visit Texas-San Antonio before home games against North Texas, Notre Dame, Temple and Memphis, plus a trip to Charlotte and the annual game against Army.
