(Interstat) — Kevin White passed for 139 yards and scored on a 2-yard run as North Carolina A&T beat visiting Rhode Island 22-18 on Saturday in an NCAA Football Championship Division game at Truist Stadium. The Aggies improved to 1-4, while the Rams fell to 2-3. Alex McClelland passed for 119 yards and rushed for 38 yards, and Tyler Budge passed for 79 yards and rushed for 49 yards. Rohan Davy made seven tackles, Moses Meus had six, and Jamall Mensah caught four passes for 27 yards. Sean Byrd added a 29-yard catch, Marvin Landy had three receptions for 30 yards, and Marquis Buchanan caught four for 35 yards. Gabe Winowich and Terrence Campbell each scored on the ground. Campbell rushed 16 times for 85 yards. Case Mankins recorded five tackles and a sack, Steven Davis II had seven tackles and an interception, and Donavan Frederick made 13 tackles and a sack.
