EL PASO (Interstat) — Braden Atkinson completed 24 of 34 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 8 yards as Oregon State beat UTEP 33-7 on Saturday at the Sun Bowl. Jesse Legree caught six passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns, Eric Olsen had five catches for 79 yards, and Jameson Powell added a touchdown catch for the Beavers, who improved to 2-2. Oregon State scored 3 points in the first quarter, 7 in the second, 6 in the third and 17 in the fourth, while UTEP scored 7 in the second. The Miners fell to 1-3. EJ Colson Jr. completed 16 of 23 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 15 yards for UTEP. Dylan Layne recorded eight tackles, a sack and a quarterback hurry, Gyriece Goodman had nine tackles and a sack, and Sailasa Vadrawale III made six tackles for Oregon State. UTEP’s Justin Content made nine tackles, Xavier Smith had six, Kaleb Miles intercepted a pass, and Jaden Smith caught eight passes for 62 yards.
