IOWA CITY, Iowa (Interstat) — Hank Brown threw for 191 yards and ran for 22 more with a touchdown as Iowa beat visiting Iowa State 16-13 on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, at Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes improved to 2-0. The Cyclones fell to 1-1.

Iowa State led after Kyle Konrardy’s 29-yard field goal and Jaylen Raynor’s 4-yard touchdown pass to Vince Benetti in the second quarter. Raynor finished 10-of-19 for 117 yards and a score. Iowa answered before halftime with Brown’s 1-yard rushing touchdown and C. Buhr’s 45-yard field goal. Konrardy made a 51-yard field goal in the third. Buhr tied it with a 32-yard kick, then won it with a 42-yard kick with 15 seconds left. Malaki Ta’ase added three tackles for Iowa State, while Tony Diaz caught eight passes for 95 yards for Iowa. Cam Buffington had 15 tackles for Iowa. Sullivan Schlimgen had nine tackles for Iowa State. The NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision game drew 69,250.
