WASHINGTON (Interstat) — Ashten Snelsire completed 19 of 35 passes for 261 yards and three touchdowns as Richmond defeated Howard 28-21 on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at Greene Stadium.

The Spiders improved to 2-0 while the Bison dropped to 1-1. Richmond took a 20-0 halftime lead, then answered each Howard surge after the break: Howard’s 14-point third quarter and fourth-quarter touchdown were not enough. Snelsire hit Sean Clarke, Quanye Veney and Bryce Allen for scores. Aziz Foster-Powell gained 34 yards rushing and added 42 receiving yards with a touchdown. Blake Houser made 12 tackles.

Howard’s Ja’Shawn Scroggins passed for 109 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 39. Antonio Hunter caught two passes for 43, including a 30-yard touchdown. Billy Roberson II rushed for 44 yards and scored on a short reception. Rodney Roane and Aidan Foster each finished with eight tackles and a sack. Matt Conord kicked three extra points and Liam Allen IV punted nine times for 335 yards.
