Lamar at Abilene Christian

ABILENE, Texas (Interstat) — A pair of 8-4 teams will clash when the Lamar Cardinals visit the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Saturday at Wildcat Stadium.

Both teams enter the regular-season finale looking to rebound from contrasting results a week ago. Lamar is coming off a narrow 21-19 home loss to McNeese State, a game in which its passing attack struggled. Quarterback Aiden McCown was held to 135 yards, though the Cardinals’ ground game was potent, with Xavier Coleman rushing for 141 yards and LaDamian McDowell adding 93 yards and a score.

Conversely, Abilene Christian is riding high after a 49-28 road victory over Central Arkansas. Wildcats quarterback Stone Earle was highly efficient, completing 30 of 37 passes for 310 yards and three touchdowns, while running back E.J. Wilson rushed for 138 yards and two scores.

The matchup features two potent offenses, but Interstat’s game simulator projects a comfortable 40-26 win for the home-standing Wildcats. Lamar will aim to leverage its powerful rushing attack to control the clock, while Abilene Christian will look for Earle to continue his accurate passing to cap its season with a win.
