Furman at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. (Interstat) — Two in-state programs heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Clemson Tigers host the Furman Paladins at Memorial Stadium.

Clemson (5-5) enters the contest with momentum after a narrow 20-19 road victory over Louisville last Friday. Quarterback Cade Klubnik passed for 187 yards, while receiver Adam Randall provided the offensive spark with 105 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Furman (6-5), an FCS program, is also coming off a win, having defeated Virginia Military Institute 32-14. Paladins quarterback Trey Hedden threw for 275 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

Despite their identical .500 records, the teams have faced vastly different competition. Clemson’s schedule has featured Power Five opponents, including a season-opening loss to LSU, while Furman has navigated a Southern Conference slate. The Paladins have struggled against stronger FCS competition, losing their last two games against Chattanooga and Mercer by a combined 41 points before the win over VMI.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Clemson is a heavy favorite, projected to win 32-3.

The game serves as the home finale for the Tigers before they travel to face rival South Carolina on Nov. 29.
