Rutgers at Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Interstat) — Ohio State puts its perfect record on the line Saturday when it hosts a resurgent Rutgers team seeking bowl eligibility at Ohio Stadium.
The Buckeyes (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten), one of the nation’s top contenders, have dominated their schedule. They are coming off a 48-10 rout of UCLA, where quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 184 yards and a touchdown, and running back Bo Jackson rushed for 112 yards and a score. Their defense has been equally formidable, posting shutouts against Wisconsin and Grambling.
Rutgers (5-5, 3-4) arrives with momentum after a 35-20 victory over Maryland on Nov. 8. In that win, quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis accounted for four touchdowns, and running back Antwan Raymond exploded for 240 rushing yards. The Scarlet Knights need one more win to become bowl-eligible for the second straight season.
Despite Rutgers’ recent success, the challenge is monumental. Ohio State is a 32.5-point favorite according to Interstat, which projects a 37-15 Buckeyes victory. The over/under is set at 55.5.
The game serves as a final tune-up for Ohio State before its annual rivalry game at Michigan next week. Rutgers will host Penn State to close its regular season.
