HAMILTON, N.Y. (Interstat) — In a dominant road performance, the undefeated Lehigh Mountain Hawks defeated the Colgate Raiders 27-7 on Saturday at Andy Kerr Stadium.

Lehigh, now 11-0, controlled the game from the outset, building a 20-0 lead by halftime and stifling the Colgate offense for most of the contest. The Raiders fell to 4-7 with the loss.

The Mountain Hawks set the tone early with a methodical 15-play, 59-yard opening drive that consumed nearly seven minutes of clock. The drive culminated in a 2-yard touchdown run by running back Aaron Crossley of Exeter, Pennsylvania.

After forcing a Colgate punt, Lehigh quickly extended its lead. Quarterback Hayden Johnson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, connected with wide receiver Anthony Feaster of Pine Brook, New Jersey, on a 50-yard deep pass, setting up a 32-yard field goal from kicker Connor Poole of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to give the Mountain Hawks a 10-0 advantage late in the first quarter.

Lehigh’s defense continued to pressure Colgate quarterback Jake Stearney of Chicago, forcing consecutive three-and-outs. The Mountain Hawks added to their lead early in the second quarter with another Poole field goal, this time from 30 yards, making the score 13-0.

The Mountain Hawks’ offense then struck for a big play. Johnson found his favorite target, Geoffrey Jamiel of West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, on a deep crossing route. Jamiel caught the pass and outran the Colgate secondary for a 64-yard touchdown, pushing the lead to 20-0.

Colgate’s lone bright spot came just before halftime. After a missed field goal and a stalled Lehigh drive, the Raiders mounted a two-minute drill. Stearney engineered a quick drive, culminating in a 28-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Matt Fogler of Cincinnati, Ohio, with six seconds remaining in the half to cut the deficit to 20-7.

Any momentum for the Raiders was extinguished in the third quarter. Colgate drove deep into Lehigh territory, but Stearney’s pass from the Lehigh 18-yard line was intercepted in the end zone by linebacker Jackson Dowd of Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

Lehigh put the game out of reach early in the fourth quarter. Running back Jaden Green of San Francisco broke through the line for a 28-yard touchdown run, capping the scoring at 27-7.

Johnson was efficient for Lehigh, completing 17 of 25 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown. Jamiel was his primary weapon, hauling in nine receptions for 138 yards and the long touchdown. Green provided a spark on the ground, rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while adding 27 receiving yards.

For Colgate, Stearney finished 15 of 28 for 151 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Fogler was the top receiver with three catches for 83 yards and the team’s only touchdown.

Lehigh concludes its regular season on the road against rival Lafayette on Saturday, Nov. 22. Colgate will host Bucknell on the same day to finish its season.
