Howard at Delaware State
DOVER, Del. (Interstat) — A pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Delaware State Hornets host the Howard Bison at Alumni Stadium.
Delaware State (7-3) enters the contest on a three-game winning streak, including a 14-12 road victory over Morgan State last Friday. The Hornets’ offense has been potent, led by quarterback Kaiden Bennett and running back James Jones, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown in the most recent win.
Howard (4-6) looks to snap a three-game skid after a 42-12 road loss to South Carolina State last Saturday. The Bison have struggled offensively during the losing streak, scoring a combined 33 points. Quarterback play has been inconsistent, with three different QBs seeing action in the last game.
Despite the disparity in records, a close game is projected. The Interstat game simulator predicts a narrow 36-35 victory for the Hornets.
The matchup will be the final home game of the season for Delaware State, which will look to improve its position in the conference standings before hosting South Carolina State on Nov. 22. Howard will look to play spoiler before returning home to face Norfolk State on the same date.
