Texas Southern at Alabama State
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Interstat) — The Alabama State Hornets, riding a three-game winning streak, will host the Texas Southern Tigers on Saturday at ASU Football Stadium in a Southwestern Athletic Conference matchup.
Alabama State (6-2) enters the contest with momentum after a 31-28 road victory over Prairie View on Nov. 1. The Hornets’ offense has been potent, averaging 47 points in their last two wins. Running back Jamarie Hostzclaw rushed for 127 yards in the team’s most recent outing.
Texas Southern (4-4) looks to rebound from a 33-14 home loss to Alcorn State last Saturday. Despite the defeat, quarterback KJ Cooper passed for 298 yards and two touchdowns in that game. The Tigers’ season has been marked by inconsistency, with their four wins coming against SWAC opponents and an NAIA school, while their losses have been more decisive.
The Hornets have dominated at home this season, boasting a perfect 4-0 record in Montgomery. Their high-powered offense will test a Texas Southern defense that allowed 33 points in its last start.
Interstat’s game simulator projects an Alabama State victory with a final score of 42-24. A win would keep the Hornets in contention for the conference title, while the Tigers aim to level their record and build momentum for their final two games of the season.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
