Howard at South Carolina State
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — A surging South Carolina State team looks to continue its push for the postseason when it hosts a struggling Howard squad on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
The Bulldogs (6-3) enter the contest riding a four-game winning streak, most recently outlasting Morgan State 36-30 last Saturday. Quarterback William Atkins IV leads the offense, coming off a 363-yard passing performance, while running back Tyler Smith provides a potent ground threat after rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Howard (4-5) aims to snap a two-game skid after falling 35-14 to North Carolina Central. The Bison’s quarterback play has been inconsistent, with Tyriq Starks and Ja’Shawn Scroggins splitting time in the recent loss. The team’s offense has been held to 14 points or fewer in three of its last four games.
South Carolina State’s offense, which has scored at least 36 points in three of its last four outings, will be a significant test for a Howard defense that has allowed an average of 29.5 points per game this season.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, South Carolina State is projected to win 41-26.
