Colgate at Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — A pair of Patriot League teams heading in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Lafayette Leopards host the Colgate Raiders at Fisher Stadium.

Lafayette (6-3) enters on a three-game winning streak following a 21-13 road victory over Holy Cross last Saturday. The Leopards’ ground game was dominant, with running back Kente Edwards rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Colgate (4-5) has split its last four contests, but is coming off a narrow 23-20 home win against Merrimack. Quarterback Jake Stearney threw for 246 yards and three touchdowns in the victory.

The Interstat game simulator projects a close contest, favoring Colgate 27-25. The matchup could hinge on Lafayette’s stout defense, which has allowed an average of 13.6 points during its winning streak, against a Colgate offense that has shown explosiveness, including a 44-point outing against Fordham in September.

The game will be the final home contest of the season for the Leopards. Colgate will look to even its record before returning home to face Lehigh on Nov. 15. Lafayette will hit the road next week to face Richmond.
