Stonehill at Central Connecticut

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (Interstat) — A surging Central Connecticut team will look to solidify its standing when it hosts Stonehill in a non-conference matchup Saturday at Arute Field.

The Blue Devils (6-3) enter the contest on a four-game winning streak, most recently edging Long Island University 10-7. Quarterback Brady Olson leads the offense, coming off a game where he threw for 200 yards and a touchdown while adding 30 yards on the ground.

The visiting Skyhawks (3-6) are looking to rebound from a narrow 20-17 loss to Robert Morris. Stonehill’s ground game, featuring Aidan Garrett and Jarel Washington, will be central to its efforts. Garrett rushed for 75 yards and a score in the last outing.

The teams have followed divergent paths this season. Central Connecticut’s potent offense has powered its winning streak, which includes a 42-35 shootout victory over Sacred Heart. Stonehill has struggled for consistency, with its three wins coming by a combined 19 points.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Central Connecticut is projected to win 41-24. The Blue Devils will travel to Duquesne next Saturday, while Stonehill will visit Wagner.
