Tennessee State at Tennessee-Martin
MARTIN, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks will look to build on a recent road victory when they host the struggling Tennessee State Tigers on Saturday at Hardy M. Graham Stadium.
The Skyhawks (4-5) are coming off a 27-20 win at Eastern Illinois last Saturday. Quarterback Jase Bauer was efficient, completing 22 of 29 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns while adding 64 rushing yards and another score. The ground game was bolstered by Chris Franklin’s 79 yards and a touchdown reception from Thomas Ansley.
Tennessee State (2-7) enters on a two-game skid, including a 35-13 home loss to Lindenwood in its last outing. The Tigers’ offense has been inconsistent, failing to score more than 16 points in any of their last four games. Their two wins this season came against Howard and North Carolina A&T.
A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring affair, favoring Tennessee-Martin 38-32. The intrastate matchup offers the Skyhawks a chance to climb back to .500, while the Tigers are fighting to salvage their season in the final weeks.
