San Diego State at Hawaii

HONOLULU (Interstat) — A pivotal Mountain West Conference matchup is set for Saturday as the surging San Diego State Aztecs travel to face the Hawaii Warriors at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

The Aztecs (7-1) enter on a six-game winning streak, fresh off a 24-7 victory over Wyoming. Their defense has been dominant, posting three consecutive shutouts in the second half and allowing just 17 total points over the last three games. The offense is powered by running back Lucky Sutton, who rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Cowboys.

Hawaii (6-3) looks to rebound after a high-scoring 45-38 loss to San Jose State. Quarterback Micah Alejado leads a potent Warriors attack, throwing for 367 yards and three touchdowns in the defeat. The Warriors are 4-1 at home this season, with their only loss a narrow 23-21 defeat to Fresno State.

Despite Hawaii’s strong home record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a narrow 35-34 victory for San Diego State. Betting markets, however, list Hawaii as a 6.5-point favorite, with an over/under of 50.5 points.

The game will be a test of San Diego State’s stifling defense against Hawaii’s dynamic passing game. A win would keep the Aztecs in contention for the conference championship, while the Warriors aim to solidify their bowl eligibility.
