California at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — The Louisville Cardinals, riding high at 7-1, will look to continue their push for an ACC championship berth when they host the struggling California Golden Bears on Saturday at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Louisville is coming off a 28-16 road victory over Virginia Tech, powered by a strong ground game. Running back Isaac Brown rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in the win. The Cardinals’ lone blemish is an overtime loss to Virginia.

Conversely, California (5-4) has lost three of its last four games, including a 31-21 home defeat to Virginia last Saturday. Quarterback Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele passed for 213 yards in the loss, but the Golden Bears’ defense has surrendered an average of 38 points during their recent skid.

Despite the records, the Golden Bears are a significant 18.5-point underdog according to FanDuel Sportsbook, which set the over/under at 50.5. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 35-26 victory for the Cardinals.

The game is a nonconference matchup for the Golden Bears, who are in their first season as a member of the ACC. Louisville holds a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series.
