Auburn at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — A struggling Auburn team looks to derail Vanderbilt’s resurgent season when the Tigers visit the Commodores on Saturday at FirstBank Stadium.

Auburn (4-5) arrives reeling from a 10-3 home loss to Kentucky, a game in which its offense mustered just 291 total yards. The Tigers have lost four of their last five games. Vanderbilt (7-2), meanwhile, is riding high despite a narrow 34-31 road loss to Texas last week. The Commodores have impressive wins over Missouri and LSU during a campaign that has far exceeded expectations.

The matchup pits Auburn’s ground game, led by running back Jeremiah Cobb, against a potent Vanderbilt passing attack. Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia threw for 365 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Texas, with receiver Eli Stowers hauling in seven catches for 146 yards and two scores.

Despite the disparity in records, Interstat’s game simulator projects an Auburn victory, 28-21. Betting markets also favor the Tigers, who have been installed as 6.5-point favorites. The over/under is set at 45.5.

Auburn’s remaining path to bowl eligibility hinges on winning two of its final three games, with Alabama looming after this contest. Vanderbilt, already bowl-eligible, aims to secure a landmark eighth win as it continues its surprising push in the SEC.
