Florida at Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Interstat) — Two teams with identical 3-5 records and fading postseason aspirations will meet Saturday when the Kentucky Wildcats host the Florida Gators at Kroger Field.

Both programs are coming off starkly different performances from last Saturday. Florida (3-5) fell 24-20 to rival Georgia, a game in which quarterback DJ Lagway threw for 166 yards and a touchdown and ran for another 24 yards. The Gators have lost two of their last three.

Kentucky (3-5), however, is riding the momentum of a 10-3 road win at Auburn. Wildcats quarterback Cutter Boley threw for 161 yards and a touchdown in the victory, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Despite the identical records and Kentucky’s recent skid, the Wildcats have been installed as a 3.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is set at 45.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a close Florida victory with a final score of 27-22.

The game represents a critical juncture for both teams as they look to build momentum for the final stretch of the season. Florida will travel to Ole Miss next week, while Kentucky is set to host Tennessee Tech.
