Tulane Holds Off Memphis Rally for 38‑32 Road Victory

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — Tulane built a commanding first-half lead and withstood a furious fourth-quarter rally by Memphis to secure a 38-32 victory Friday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The Green Wave improved to 7-2, while the Tigers fell to 8-2.

Quarterback Jake Retzlaff led Tulane, accounting for four touchdowns. He threw for 332 yards and three scores, including a 65-yard strike to Shazz Preston on the game’s opening drive, and added another touchdown on the ground. Memphis quarterback Brendon Lewis passed for 317 yards and two touchdowns, but the Tigers’ comeback bid fell short after a scoreless third quarter left them in a deep hole.
