Brown at Penn

PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — A pivotal Ivy League matchup is set for Halloween night at Franklin Field as the Penn Quakers host the Brown Bears on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025.

Both teams are looking to rebound from losses last Saturday. Penn (4-2) fell 35-13 at Yale, while Brown (3-3) dropped a 30-24 decision at Cornell.

The game features a compelling quarterback contrast. Brown’s James Murphy is coming off a prolific 468-yard, two-touchdown passing performance against Cornell. Penn’s offense, however, leans on the dual-threat ability of Liam O’Brien, who passed for 220 yards and rushed for 45 more with a touchdown in the loss to Yale.

The Quakers have been stronger at home this season, boasting a 3-0 record in Philadelphia compared to a 1-2 mark on the road. Brown seeks its first Ivy League victory after conference losses to Cornell and Princeton.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Penn holds a slight edge, projected to win 26-19. The outcome could hinge on whether Murphy’s aerial attack can solve a Penn defense that has been stout at home, or if O’Brien and the Quakers’ ground game can control the clock.

The contest kicks off at 8 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ESPNU. Penn’s next game is at home against Cornell on Nov. 8, while Brown will host Yale the same day.
