Wofford at East Tennessee State
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Interstat) — A surging Wofford team will look to continue its recent success when it visits East Tennessee State on Saturday in a Southern Conference matchup.
The Terriers (1-5) enter William B. Greene Jr. Stadium riding a two-game winning streak, including a 31-13 victory over Furman last Saturday. Quarterback J.T. Fayard has been efficient, throwing for 179 yards and two touchdowns in the win, while the running back duo of Ihson Jackson-Anderson and Gerald Modest has provided a balanced ground attack.
The Buccaneers (3-4) are coming off a high-scoring 42-38 loss to Chattanooga. Despite the defeat, their offense showed explosive potential. Running back Devontae Houston rushed for 171 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Cade McNamara contributed both through the air and on the ground.
While Wofford’s overall record is underwhelming, its recent form suggests a team finding its rhythm. East Tennessee State has been inconsistent but potent at home, boasting a 2-1 record in Johnson City this season. The Buccaneers’ offense, which put up 45 points in a win over VMI on Oct. 11, will test a Wofford defense that has improved during its winning streak.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a close contest, favoring East Tennessee State 29-25. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. EDT kickoff on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025.
