Rutgers at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt losing streaks will meet Saturday when the Rutgers Scarlet Knights visit the Purdue Boilermakers at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Rutgers (3-3) enters the contest reeling from a 56-10 home loss to Oregon last Saturday. The Scarlet Knights’ offense struggled mightily, with quarterbacks Athan Kaliakmanis and AJ Surace combining for just 79 passing yards. The defeat was the third straight for Rutgers after a 3-0 start.

Purdue (2-4) is also seeking to rebound from a shutout loss, falling 19-0 at Northwestern. The Boilermakers’ offense, led by quarterback Malachi Singleton, managed just 218 total yards and has lost four of its last five games.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 31-24 victory for Purdue, which has been installed as a 2.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 58.5.

The matchup presents a critical opportunity for both programs to gain momentum before facing daunting schedules in November. Rutgers will travel to Illinois next, while Purdue is set to visit Michigan.
