Furman at Wofford
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Interstat) — A surging Wofford team will look to continue its momentum against a reeling Furman squad when the Terriers host the Paladins in a Southern Conference matchup on Saturday at Gibbs Stadium.
The game presents a stark contrast in recent fortunes. Wofford (0-5) is coming off its first victory of the season, a 31-14 win over Norfolk State on Oct. 11. Quarterback J.T. Fayard led the way, throwing for 248 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Ihson Jackson-Anderson rushed for 113 yards and a score.
Furman (4-1), meanwhile, is looking to rebound from a humbling 52-7 road loss to Western Carolina. The Paladins’ offense, which had been consistent in narrow wins over William & Mary, Campbell and Samford, was held in check. Quarterback Trey Hedden passed for 208 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
Despite the records, a Interstat game simulator projects a close contest, favoring Wofford 28-22. The Terriers will seek their first conference win, while Furman aims to right the ship and maintain its position near the top of the league standings.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025.
