Northern Illinois at Eastern Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking a spark to salvage their seasons will meet Saturday when the Eastern Michigan Eagles host the Northern Illinois Huskies at Rynearson Stadium.
Both Mid-American Conference squads enter with identical 1-5 overall records. The game is a crucial early conference test for each program.
The Huskies (1-4) are looking to rebound from a 25-14 home loss to Miami (Ohio) last Saturday. Their offense has struggled, failing to score more than 14 points in four of their five games. The running game, led by Lazaro Rogers who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown in the loss, will be a focal point against an Eastern Michigan defense that has allowed an average of 36 points per game.
The Eagles (1-5) are coming off a heartbreaking 31-30 road loss to Buffalo. Despite the record, their offense has shown potency. Quarterback Noah Kim accounted for two touchdowns and running back Dontae McMillan totaled 163 yards and a score in the narrow defeat.
Despite Eastern Michigan’s record, oddsmakers have installed the Eagles as a 2.5-point favorite. The over/under is set at 48.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a high-scoring affair with Northern Illinois edging out a 32-31 victory.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
