Ball State at Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Interstat) — A pair of Mid-American Conference teams trending in opposite directions will meet Saturday when the Western Michigan Broncos host the Ball State Cardinals at Waldo Stadium.

Ball State (2-3) enters with momentum after a 20-14 home victory over Ohio last Saturday. The Cardinals’ offense is powered by dual-threat quarterback Kiael Kelly, who threw for 185 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 96 yards and another score in the win.

Western Michigan (3-3) is also riding high after a dominant 21-3 road win at Massachusetts. The Broncos’ quarterback situation appears potent, with Broc Lowry accounting for two touchdowns and 92 rushing yards in the victory, while Michael Brescia caught a touchdown pass.

Despite Ball State’s winning record in conference play and recent victory, the Cardinals are a +8.5 point underdog according to Interstat, which projects a 35-25 victory for the Broncos. The over/under is set at 42.5 points.

The game features a contrast in recent fortunes. While Ball State snapped a two-game skid with its win over Ohio, Western Michigan has won three of its last four after a 0-2 start to the season. The Broncos’ defense will be tested by a Ball State offense that has shown big-play ability on the ground.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025.
