Appalachian State at Georgia State

ATLANTA (Interstat) — Appalachian State looks to build on a signature victory when it visits Georgia State in a Sun Belt Conference matchup on Saturday.

The Mountaineers (3-2) are coming off a 27-23 home win over Oregon State last Saturday, a game in which quarterback JJ Kohl threw for 218 yards and a touchdown and running back Rashod Dubinion rushed for 98 yards and a score. The win provided a boost after a 47-14 road loss to Boise State the previous week.

The Panthers (1-4), meanwhile, are seeking to end a three-game skid after a 14-7 home loss to James Madison. Quarterback TJ Finley threw for 198 yards and a touchdown in the defeat. Georgia State’s lone win this season was a 37-21 victory over Murray State on Sept. 13.

Despite the disparity in records, Georgia State has been installed as a slight 1.5-point favorite at home. The over/under is set at 55.5 points. A projection from Interstat, however, forecasts a high-scoring affair with Appalachian State winning 42-32.

Kickoff is set for Saturday at Center Parc Stadium.
