Princeton at Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — The Lafayette Leopards, riding a three-game winning streak, will host the winless Princeton Tigers on Saturday at Fisher Stadium.

Lafayette (3-1) is coming off a dominant 38-14 victory over Columbia last Friday. The Leopards’ offense was powered by running back Kente Edwards, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. Quarterback Dean DeNobile was efficient, completing 14 of 17 passes for 166 yards.

After a season-opening loss to Bowling Green, Lafayette has averaged 40.7 points per game in its three consecutive wins against Stonehill, Georgetown and Columbia.

Princeton (0-1) looks to rebound from a 42-35 season-opening loss to San Diego last Saturday. The Tigers’ offense showed potency, with quarterback Kai Colón throwing for 196 yards and a touchdown while adding 15 yards on the ground. A second quarterback, Blaine Hipa, also saw action, completing 6 of 8 passes for 87 yards.

Despite the offensive production, Princeton’s defense could not contain San Diego, setting up a challenge against Lafayette’s surging attack.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Princeton is projected to win 30-20.

The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday, Sept. 27. For Princeton, it is the first of eight Ivy League contests following this non-conference matchup. Lafayette will open Patriot League play next week against Fordham.
