Eastern Michigan at Central Michigan

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (Interstat) — Rivals Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan meet Saturday at Kelly/Shorts Stadium with both teams looking to build on decisive victories.

The Eagles (1-3) snapped a three-game skid with a 34-31 win over Louisiana last Saturday. Quarterback Noah Kim threw for 226 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing score, while Dontae McMillan rushed for 126 yards.

The Chippewas (2-2) are also coming off a dominant performance, a 49-10 rout of Wagner. Quarterback Joe Labas passed for 241 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Despite Eastern Michigan’s losing record, the Eagles have been installed as a slight 4.5-point favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under is 54.5 points. However, Interstat’s game simulator projects a different outcome, forecasting a 41-23 victory for the home-standing Chippewas.

Central Michigan’s two wins have come against Wagner and San Jose State, while its losses were blowouts against Power Five opponents Michigan and Pittsburgh. Eastern Michigan’s schedule has also been challenging, with its lone win a narrow one.

The game marks the start of Mid-American Conference play for both teams. Eastern Michigan travels to Buffalo next, while Central Michigan visits Akron.
