OMAHA (Interstat) — Cord Rager threw seven no-hit innings and Deiten Lachance hit a two-run home run as the Oklahoma Sooners shut out the Alabama Crimson Tide 9-0 on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in a playoff game at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska.

Rager, who struck out eight and did not walk a batter, lowered his ERA to 0.00 over his past two starts. He followed a six-inning, six-strikeout no-hit performance against Kansas in his previous outing with another dominant display. LJ Mercurius pitched two hitless innings in relief, striking out two, to complete the combined shutout.

Oklahoma improved to 39-22, while Alabama fell to 42-20. The Sooners outhit the Crimson Tide 11-5.

Lachance went 2-for-5 with the homer, two RBIs and two runs. Dasan Harris went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Trey Gambill doubled in two runs in the first inning. Brendan Brock doubled in a run and scored once. Dayton Tockey doubled and scored. Jack Walk had two hits and three runs.

Alabama starter Tyler Fay took the loss. He allowed six hits and five earned runs over six innings, striking out six. Evan Steckmesser gave up two hits in one-third of an inning. Sam Mitchell pitched a scoreless ninth, striking out one.

Oklahoma scored two runs in the first inning on Gambill’s double. Walk singled and scored on a double-play groundout in the third. Lachance’s homer to left field in the sixth inning made it 4-0. The Sooners broke the game open with four runs in the eighth. Brock doubled in a run and Harris singled in two. Tockey doubled later in the inning.

Alabama’s best scoring opportunity came in the fifth inning, when they strung together two singles, but a double play ended the threat. The Crimson Tide managed only five hits, all singles, and struck out 10 times.

The game was an afternoon contest that stretched into the evening under clear skies.
