LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Interstat) — The visiting Troy Trojans defeated the host Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans 7-2 on Saturday afternoon at Mims Gym. Troy jumped ahead with a seven-run first inning, keyed by Drew Nelson’s two-run double scoring Aaron Piasecki and Josh Pyne. Aaron Piasecki added a sacrifice fly in the second, Steven Meier singled home a run in the third and Josh Pyne drove in another in the seventh. Blake Cavill’s two-run single in the ninth capped the scoring.

Arkansas-Little Rock scratched runs on a fielder’s choice in the fourth and a solo home run by Jerdy Lopez in the eighth. Troy outhit the home Trojans 10-7. Tommy Egan, Noah Thigpen and Gage Haley were among pitchers seeing action, though no complete stat lines were detailed.

Troy improved to 38-30; Arkansas-Little Rock fell to 39-28. The win followed Troy’s 12-2 victory Friday in the series opener.
