SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Interstat) — Gonzaga built a 5-0 lead in the first inning, but San Francisco answered with five runs in the bottom half to tie. The Dons took the lead in the second on an RBI single by Jackson Nystrom. Gonzaga’s Jacob Wrubleski and Tommy Eisenstat drove in runs in the third, but the Bulldogs could not overcome the deficit. The Dons had nine hits, while Gonzaga collected 11. Landon Hood pitched for the Bulldogs; Nick Bacura, Hunter Holzemer and Gabriel Barrett threw for San Francisco. The Bulldogs dropped to 35-19, while the Dons improved to 25-29. The afternoon-evening game at Scottsdale Stadium also featured RBI hits from Gabriel Barrett and Tyler Harries for San Francisco, and Ricky Sanchez and Hudson Shupe for Gonzaga.
