ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — Binghamton Bearcats pitcher Conner Griffin led a combined shutout as the Bearcats defeated the Massachusetts-Lowell River Hawks 3-0 on Thursday afternoon at Varsity Field. Binghamton improved to 29-20 overall, while Lowell fell to 21-30.

The Bearcats scored two runs in the second inning. Mike Stellrecht singled to left field, driving in Zack Kent. Braylen Gonzalez added a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Steven Kraus. In the third, Matt Bolton scored on a wild pitch.

Binghamton’s pitching staff of Griffin, Jake Dally and Aiden Milburn held Lowell to six hits while collecting seven. Jacob Jette started for Lowell but took the loss, with Frankie DeMaro and Brian Foley also pitching. The victory gave Binghamton a series win after the teams split a four-game set earlier in May.
