OMAHA (Interstat) — Purdue right-hander Zach Erdman allowed one run over six innings and the Boilermakers rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to beat Illinois 3-1 on Wednesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse in a Big Ten matchup. Erdman scattered five hits, struck out four and walked one in improving to a record not immediately available.
