Flames Extinguish Crimson With Six-Run Second Inning

LYNCHBURG, Va. (Interstat) — The Liberty Flames capitalized on a disastrous second inning by Harvard pitching to defeat the Crimson 9-3 on Friday evening.

Liberty sent 10 men to the plate in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on just one hit. Harvard pitchers issued four walks and a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, allowing five runs before recording an out. Tanner Marsh and Dylan Grabowski each drove in three runs for the Flames.

Harvard’s Max Lane hit a two-run homer in the seventh and Jordan Kang went 3 for 3, but the Crimson fell to 0-7. Liberty improved to 9-3. The teams continue their series Saturday.
