CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Interstat) — Breckin Nace’s three-run homer in the first inning powered Radford to a 7-1 victory over Western Carolina in nonconference baseball Friday night.

Nace’s blast off starter Davis Wright gave the Highlanders a lead they never relinquished at a neutral site. Daniel Quintana earned the win with four scoreless innings of relief, allowing four hits and striking out three. Radford’s Raymond Ladd followed with four innings, yielding one run.

Devin Parks added three RBIs for Radford, which improved to 7-5. Eli Hudgins went 3 for 4. Western Carolina’s lone run came on an RBI single by Stanley in the third. The Catamounts managed nine hits but stranded multiple runners, falling to 9-4.
