Wildcats’ Pitching Dominates in Shutout Victory Over Colonels

RICHMOND, Ky. (Interstat) — Kentucky’s pitching staff combined for a one-hit shutout Tuesday as the Wildcats routed Eastern Kentucky 10-0 at Turkey Hughes Field.

Starter Tommy Skelding set the tone with four perfect innings, striking out two. Relievers William Coleman and Ryan Mullan each added two more hitless frames to preserve the combined no-hit bid until the Colonels’ fourth hit in the ninth.

The Wildcats’ offense provided ample support. Scott Campbell launched a grand slam in the second inning, and Ethan Hindle added a solo homer in the third as part of a two-hit, two-RBI performance. Kentucky improved to 10-2 while Eastern Kentucky fell to 3-9.

The teams meet again Wednesday in Lexington.
