The most decisive sequence came in the top of the second inning, which transformed a manageable 1-0 lead into a commanding rout. The offensive output was widespread. Eight of Georgia Tech’s nine starters recorded at least one hit, with seven posting multi-hit games. Vahn Lackey hit a three-run homer in the third inning, his first of the season. Pinch-hitter Parker Brosius later added a three-run shot of his own in the seventh, also his first.
